Literally meaning ‘hidden valley’, Sakli Vadi is a real escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and sums up the essence of Kayakoy. The owners, Sandy and John are well traveled, they’ve worked and lived for many years in the Middle East and are currently residing in Bahrain.  They fell in love with the area back in 1993 on a family vacation so brought up 3 old farm buildings in the tiny Kayakoy hamlet of Kinali.  The renovation project was hard, taking 6 years in all to complete and to source the right materials and ensure that all work was in keeping with the area. They did a wonderful job, the place is truly special and eventually their efforts were rewarded winning them a plaque presented by Ministry of Culture and Tourism for sympathetic restoration of the 3 cottages. It is here that they hope to retire one day.

The views from the cottages are breathtaking.  They are situated at the top of the valley allowing fabulous views across the local farmland, tobacco and corn fields and the local country lanes and trails. The cottages themselves are beautifully styled and named after the jobs the buildings were originally used for; The Brye, The Granary and The Forge.  A part of the property above the Brye is home to the shared plunge pool, dug out of the rock so it stays cool during the hot summer months. Above the pool are kosks (ottoman seating areas) giving you a great place to relax, read and take in the tranquility of the valley below.

The GRANARY offers complete privacy.  It’s the smallest of the cottages set in its own rock and flower garden behind high stone walls. The patio is on two levels offering great sunbathing and a terrace with table and chairs under a shaded pergola.  There is a traditional fireplace BBQ with bench seats perfect for a meal of an evening. The accommodation consists of an entrance hall into fully fitted kitchen.  Off the kitchen is a shower room and also double doors leading to a combined lounge and double bedroom.  It has a period feature corner hearth that was one used to generate warmth and cook on. A short 2 minute stroll takes you to the Plunge pool and kosk area above the Brye.

The FORGE is again a one bedroom cottage with similar features to the Granary but a separate lounge and bedroom.

The BRYE is the largest of the cottages with one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, separate lounge with a balcony.  On the balcony there are two single beds.
